Recently there was a media story reporting that Causes' users' Facebook IDs were transmitted to and made accessible by advertisers when users clicked on the ad of an advertiser. Rest assured that we have not sold your information to any advertisers, and we are not aware of any instance in which an advertiser has actually accessed and made use of a Causes' user's ID that was transmitted.
We have reviewed our systems and processes and taken the actions that we believe are necessary to prevent Causes Facebook users' IDs from being transmitted to or accessed by advertisers without your explicit consent. As Facebook and Causes users ourselves, we take privacy concerns and issues seriously.
