Mumbai is widely acknowledged to have some of the best night life anywhere in India, and one of Mumbai’s coolest lounges is Busaba in the posh Colaba area of the city. Frequently rated by food guides as one of the top ten places to eat and drink, Busaba holds its own against very tough competition with some of the best East Asian cuisine that the city has to offer. Foodies will find everything from the ubiquitous Tibetan momos with an assortment of chilly sauces to the most well known dishes from the Far East such as Korean Bulgogi, beef that has been marinated and then barbecued over an open fire to a spicy perfection and Burmese Kaukswe, tender noodles in rich coconut curry topped with delicately flavoured chicken. For once vegetarians are not left out in the cold either with novel dishes with beautiful flavours and textures like Bin Dae Duk, Korean bean pancakes with sliced mushrooms and bamboo shoots and a delicious Tofu Satay. Busaba hasn’t shot to fame purely for its great food though - the ambience of this great little restaurant is something even fashion magazines like Vogue rave about. With a DJ that is known to play great music every night, a choice of indoor or outdoor seating, a great selection of foreign spirits and service that is efficient without being obsequious, Busaba is the perfect place to throw back a few drinks with friends and soak in the easy ambience after a long day in manic Mumbai |
